Zennadar – Legendary Cloak

Last week I finally managed to complete Celestial Blessings. I had been sitting on that one since November last year. It was quite frustrating to complete the ranged DPS challenge. I tried quite a lot of times and came very close a few times, but finally gave up. Now that I had a few more pieces of gear from ‘Downfall’, I decided to try again and did it in one go ! After visiting the other celestials in Pandaria, I received my iLvl 600 cloak !

Now in order to make it a legendary cloak, you have to defeat all four celestials on the Timeless Isle. I figured that wasn’t going to happen soon, so I bought a gem and got an enchantment from my alt and went on my merry way. Last Wednesday however, I decided to check anyway whether some group would be doing the celestials and lo and behold, there was one. We managed to do three of the four ! Only Xuen the white tiger left to do. The alliance tagged him first however so we didn’t get that kill and it was getting late so I figured I’d get a shot at that sooner or later. As a nice bonus, I got my fourth tier set piece, so I get the tier set bonus :).

Last friday, when I logged on to Morpheus to do my daily leathercrafting thing, I noticed a group was just about to take on Xuen. I quickly logged out and logged Zen in, and managed to get a few sets in, in order to complete the quest and get the legendary. Hooray ! After I got that and went back to the Isle, there was a group forming for Ordos, who you can only reach when you got the cloak, so that was a nice bonus. All in all quite a bit of luck and a nice turn of events. Never thought I’d be able to get the legendary cloak, but after a very long questline, I managed it.

Below is the fun cutscene (of sorts) you get once you get the item in order to turn your cloak into a legendary one.

Deepholme Dailies

Yes, I am still playing. And according to Raptr, it’s still my most played game. I am basically popping in with one of my characters for an hour or so. Do some dailies, one or two pvp matches or a quest chain of some sort.

The Deepholme Dailies are nice enough to do every now and then. There is a nice overview over here ! Not a big fan of the Tol Barad ones. Usually a bit too crowded and a bit too annoying !

Before The Shattering

Since I play on the european server, the Shattering will happen wednesday early. I took the opportunity the last few days during the Elemental attack to say Farewell to the old world that we have come to love and sometimes hate, the past six years. It’s hard to believe it’s been so long since I made the journey from ThunderBluff to Crossroads in the dark with all these scary monsters around me. Since then I met a lot of friends, some stayed with me all the way to Dalaran. Others fell behind :(.

New revamped wow site

The worldofwarcraft.com site badly needed an overhaul. It’s been the same since it was launched as I can remember. The ancient gaming noob did a nice review of the new site over at his blog.

As I was looking at the new site I noticed the moonkin hatchling pet that will be out soon. Isn’t he cute ?

Things to look forward to – Azshara

In Cataclysm Azshara will be turned into the starting area for the new Horde addition, the goblins. From the video previews so far it looks like it will be a great leveling experience !

It seems a lot of people are waiting for Cataclysm and are playing other games at the moment. At most I see 2 or 3 people in guild chat, if any ! On the rare occasion I log on, that is. Even Dalaran isn’t as busy as it used to be.

LFG Patch 3.3

Patch 3.3 has been live now for about 2 weeks. And it sure has been a lot of fun ! I am rotating through my four level 80 characters and gearing them up a bit. To my surprise most groups work out very well. Usually a mix of better geared characters with a few people that are still in the process of gearing up.

Xmas 2009 Morphhoof and Borkun

The better geared 4k dps people sometimes have quite the attitude though (NOOBS GO GO GO FFS). The vote to kick option usually works fine though, I hope they enjoy the 15mins debuff ! I wonder about some of these people though. Yesterday a guy linked recount stats after two groups of trashmobs, NOOBS WE DONT HAVE 3k DPS ! And leaves… Apparently you need 3k dps to do heroics now ;). If he just would have gone along with the group he would have finished earlier than joining the queue again.

One flaw in the LFG system is people that go offline or are AFK in the first 15mins where you cannot kick someone. These people should automatically be removed from group after a minute or so. It can really slow things down, especially if they’re the healer or tank.

The three new instances are nice. Halls of Reflection is certainly a notch up in difficulty. I hate it when it’s the random dungeon, I have only finished it so far, when I queue up for HOR specifically. After the first wipe most people leave, or they cannot find the entrance to the dungeon. I really enjoyed Pit of Saron. The Krick and Ick fight is very funny (I’ll go for this one instead !) and I love the run through the tunnel. But I went into that place quite a few times to get my 2h Mace for my deathknight, so I’ve seen enough of it for now. My hunter will need it for the nice crossbow though. So is now running around with the gun that drops on normal mode from the end boss.

As Randy stated on one of the latest Instance shows, 3.3 has breathed new life into Wow. People seem to log on more, dive into dungeons, get some emblems and better gear. Everything seems to work out quite well. I kinda miss the guild runs though, but I am sure that will come back soon enough.
